He added, “This is the first of its kind in Nigeria and Yiaga Africa and Channels Television have once again confirmed that they are leading organizations in the areas of elections and public information. The meeting of the two in this new project demonstrates their spirit of innovation, their ingenuity and their commitment to the public interest and social responsibility.

“Your creativity brought what was an averagely visited web portal established by the Commission into the living rooms of millions of Nigerians within weeks. The visibility that ERAD gave INEC Result Viewing

(IReV) has been instrumental and is deeply appreciated by the Commission. I hope you will maintain the scoreboard and the Commission remains ready to work with you to improve it.

“Over the years, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has realized that effective and transparent results management is at the heart of public trust, peaceful elections and the growth and consolidation of our democracy. The Commission has been resolute in this regard and has invested considerable time, thought and resources in improving the results management system.

“Together with other agencies and organisations, the Commission has worked to use legislation to improve the processing of results, invested in technology and introduced several procedures to improve transparency.”
