Gubernatorial candidates from five political parties visited and interacted with thousands of Christian leaders in southern Kaduna State ahead of the lifting of the embargo on the 2023 election campaign due to start on September 28.

The 11 local government areas located in the southern part of the state where the Christian rulers hail from are Sanga, Jema’a, Kaura, Kajuru, Lere, Chikun, Kachia, Jaba, Zango Kataf, Kagarko and Kaduna South.

The meeting labeled “Southern Kaduna Pastor’s Congress”, had candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Uba Sani, that of Action Alliance (AA), Mr. Timothy Adamu, from the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), Dr Andrew Duya and that of the Labor Party (LP) Dr Jonathan Asake.

The President of the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, remarked that the gathering was intended to allow candidates to speak directly with Christian leaders about their plan and ask for clarification, the optionally.

Kure explained that the move would forestall the possibility of a post-election crisis that could arise due to misrepresentation of facts, just as he called on leaders of other faiths to also organize a similar engagement with presidential candidates. post of governor.

“In addition to today’s meeting, engagements will continue with the hope of selecting three candidates from among all the candidates who will be presented to Christians in South Kaduna to pray and choose,” Kure added.
